Demystifying a silent killer

- The Pancreatic Cancer Association of Western New York will host a free symposium "Demystifying a Silent Killer... Understanding Pancreatic Cancer" on Saturday, January 24 at the University of Rochester Alumni and Advancement Center.

PCA WNY Board Chair Lorie Perez and PCA WNY Board Vice-Chair Mary Ellen Smith discussed the event Monday on News 8 at Noon.

The free symposium is unique to the Rochester region.  It will run from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.  It's a free educational and informative symposium that will address the life cycle of the disease from research to diagnosis to treatment.

Among the presenting physicians are:
Dr. Vivek Kaul - Symposium Chair, University of Rochester Medical Center
Dr. Priya Jamidar, Yale University
Dr. Adam Hezel and Dr. Hucky Land, Wilmot Cancer Institute
Dr. David Linehan, University of Rochester Medical Center

There will also be a Q&A session to allow attendees to ask questions they may not have considered in the clinical setting of the doctor's office.
