Eating slowly does not help most obese people eat less. Researchers at Texas Christian University studied the impact of eating speed on normal weight and obese people. They found only normal weight subjects had a significant reduction in calorie consumption when asked to slow the speed of their intake. Both groups felt less hungry after they ate slowly.
Strict parents have fewer kids who smoke. That is according to a new study at Georgetown University. Researchers surveyed middle school students from diverse backgrounds and found those whose parents set limits and had an authoritative style were less likely to light up cigarettes.
