Holly Hanushevsky teaches in an integrated classroom at Rochester's East Foundation Academy.

She was nominated for a News 8 Golden Apple Award by student Santonia Morgan.

Ms. Hanushevsky says "I think it's important to try to make every student stay the best so they can learn and feel comfortable in a safe environment. And I try to help her out when she's having a rough day. And all the other students as well.  I've been with the city for 12 years and I couldn't imagine going to any other school. I feel like this is where I belong."

Watch our story to learn more about Holly Hanushevsky and why she deserves a Golden Apple Award.  Here's Santoina's letter.

Dear News 8,

I think Ms.Holly Hanushevsky should win because she is the most kind hearted teacher ever. If you are having a bad day she knows how to put a big smile on your face. She lightens everyone's day with her wonderful personality and it would be an honor if my teacher, Ms. Hanushevsky, would be nominated for the Golden Apple Award.
