The former principal of Monroe High School has been assigned to run the All City High School program at the Marshall campus.
Superintendent Bolgen Vargas removed Armando Ramirez from his Monroe post after tension with staff and criticism of his management style. Vargas hired the former principal of Avon High School, Barbara Zelazny, to take his place, but the board didn't think she was a good fit.
Zelazny has been assigned to run Northeast College High School. The principal of Northeast, Mary Aronson, was moved out to make room for Zelazny and is awaiting her assignment.
The All City High School post had been filled by a principal, but the state does not consider it to be a school. All City High School is a program that is supposed to be run by a district program administrator, a position that pays less than a principal job. All City is also not accountable to the state for test scores.
The administrators union has filed a grievance over the practice of placing principals in jobs that are supposed to go to program administrators. The union contract says principals can only be placed out of title for one year. The union says there are six principals without schools and only three open principal jobs.
No injuries were life threatening.
