ROC the Day is Coming December 8th

Carly Layton, the Director of Marketing and Communications for the United Way of Greater Rochester and Don Jeffries, President and CEO of Rochester Broadway Theatre League, joined Katrina Irwin on News 8 at Sunrise Wednesday.

They discussed ROC the Day. It's a one-day community-wide giving event taking place on December 8. ROC the Day will be the first of its kind in the Greater Rochester area and all of New York State. On this day, thousands of community members will be able to make an end-of-year gift to help advance their philanthropic passions. United Way of Greater Rochester Director of Marketing and Communications Carly Layton and Rochester Broadway Theatre League President and CEO Donald Jeffries are here this morning to tell you why you should "ROC the Day" on December 8.

Area not-for-profits can register at until November 30. Seven organizations that registered early received an additional $1,000 grant. Every hour throughout ROC the Day, on ROCstar donor will be chosen to receive an additional $500 added to their gift for a not-for-profit of their choice. Community members can enter their email address at to sign up for a reminder to give and become a ROCstar on December 8.
