When Ethan Fletcher performs, you pay attention. He's that good! At Geneseo High School, Ethan is a standout student actor. The auditorium is a second home. "We call this the big red room," he says. "This is where we live a couple of months out of the year so to do shows in here is kind of special."
Ethan's first play was in the 6th grade. Since then, he's performed in 15 plays and musicals. His favorite role so far is the lead in Pippin, put on by the Geneseo Community Players last summer. "It's really rewarding in the end and to get to perform and have the community come and watch you, I really enjoy it," he says.
"He'll be in some show, group or band where he'll be performing, no doubt," says Geneseo Drama Club Director and Enrichment Teacher Bettina DeBell. "No matter what else he may choose in his life path, I don't think that'll ever be something he lets go of. I know he'll be performing."
Ethan is currently rehearsing for the school's production of "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying." Next spring, he'll direct middle schoolers in a production of "Charlotte's Web."After that: Ethan will devote himself to college, career, and a lifetime pursuit of the arts.
