Take As Directed

If people would take their medications as prescribed, they'd be healthier. It sounds simple, but 20 percent of people don't fill new prescriptions. About half of people with chronic illnesses don't take their medication after six months.

That's according to Excellus BlueCross BlueShield. Chief Pharmacy Officer Mona Chitre, Pharm.D. stopped by News 8 First at 4 to talk about this issue and strategies to help people take their medication as directed.
