There's no drive-in movie theater in downtown Rochester, but you can experience something similar on Friday.

"Movies With a Downtown View" is taking place at Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Park. The event is being put on by and other sponsors.

The festivities start at 7 p.m. with trivia, games, giveaways and food trucks. There will also be beer sold by Roc Brewing.

At around 8:45, "Almost Famous" will be shown on the lawn. The movie was selected to honor Philip Seymour Hoffman.

There will be another movie event in August.

Details about the event can be found here.
